Production Method Of Electrical Energy by Enhanced Thermal Electron Emission by the Use of Superior Semiconductors

Workshop on Electron Emission from Solid Surfaces Israel,
20th & 21st April 2016



The conference will take place at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel.


The workshop aims at presenting the Electron Emission (EE) properties of solid surfaces induced by different primary excitations including:

  • Thermally induced EE;
  • Photo-Induced EE;
  • Electron and Ion induced EE;
  • Field Emission and,
  • Cluster Induced EE; will be discussed.

Particular attention will be given to semiconductor and carbon based material surfaces.

The aim of the workshop is to present both the latest advances and research associated with Electron Emission (EE) as well as its possible application in devices. From the fundamental side complex excitation physics and surface phenomena play a central role in the emission process and these will be discussed in details.

In addition, EE processes have technological relevance in the development of e.g.  Particle detectors as well as the possibility to convert thermal energy to electrical energy through thermionic emission processes, which will be also be discussed in the workshop. A specialsession of the workshop will be devoted to the results obtained by the ProME3ThE2US2 EU project, in which the possibility to convert solar radiation to electricity by a combined Photo-Enhanced and Thermionic Emission (PETE) processes will be presented.
